1. General introduction: The Department of Education and Student Affairs is a functional unit under the VNU School of Law – according to Decision no. 3236/QD-DHQGHN dated September 4th, 2015 on the organization and operation of the School of Law. The Department of Education and Student Affairs has the function of advising and assisting the Rector regarding the development of academic programs and student recruitment; organizing and managing teaching activities for undergraduate and graduate programs; implement political, ideological education and regimes for students, manage and assist students. 2. Missions: 2.1. Development of academic programs - In charge of education development strategies; - In charge of developing proposals for collaborative education and training programs; - Coordinate with other units of the University in developing new degree proposals; - Coordinate with other units of the University in advancing education and training programs. 2.2. Student recruitment - Determine admission quota, build annual recruitment plan; - Coordinate with relevant units in developing and implementing the plan for recruitment advertising and consultation; - Coordinate with relevant units in organizing student recruitment, developing admission criteria according to regulations; Organize the enrollment of admitted candidates according to regulations; - Actively contact partner institutions and prepare for procedure to conduct collaborative programs. 2.3. Organization of teaching activities - Develop regulations, procedures and forms related to education activities; - Develop school year plan, program plan; - Coordinate with relevant units in developing and implementing program plans, school year plans, semester plans for all available education and training programs; - Coordinate with relevant units in organizing field trips, internships; - Complete records of the submission and receipt of thesis proposals; organize the defense of bachelor’s, master’s, PhD thesis defense; - Coordinate with relevant units in drafting invitation letters, teaching contracts/ contract completion statements with lecturers/units outside the University; - Coordinate with the Department of Planning and Finance and relevant units in calculating, confirming and recording working hours for lecturers/units outside the University. 2.4. Considering recognition of learning results - Coordinate with relevant units in considering recognition of input and output standards of foreign languages and informatics, recognition of certificates required for students to graduate; - Complete records related to recognition of thesis defense results; - Organize assessment of learning and graduation according to current rules and regulations; - Organize the assessment procedure to recognize the completion of short-term training programs (if any). 2.5. Issue of diplomas and certificates - Make records of the receipt and use of diploma and certificate templates; - Print, issue diplomas and certificates (if any); - Certify information about issued diplomas and certificates. 2.6. Statistical, archival, reporting work - Store records related to education activities according to regulations; - Make statistical reports related to educational activities. - Make periodic and unscheduled reports by requests. 2.7. Student affairs - Manage student affairs; - Implement policies and regimes for students; - Assist students during their studies at the University. 2.8.
